The Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology Journal is a monthly, scientific-practical peer-reviewed medical journal coverining gastroenterology, hepatology and other related nosologies.

The journal aims to be easily accessible, organizing its content by topic, both in print and online to provide scientific practical and professional support for clinicians dealing with alimentary tract disorders. Topis include: Functional GI Disorders; the Liver; Pancreas Biliary tree; Esophagus, Stomach;Small Bowel, Colon, Inflammatory Bowel Disease; Endoscopy; Nutrition and Obesity; Pediatrics; Geriatrics, Morbidity. Regular issues include articles describing novel mechanisms of disease and new management strategies, both diagnostic and therapeutic, likely to impact on clinical practice in the form of scientific reviews, and lectures, original studies, cases from clinical practice, guidlines.
Under the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation dated February 19, 2010, the journal included in the "List of leading peer-reviewed publications in which the results of dissertations for the scientific degrees of a candidate and a doctor of medical sciences should be published."

The Journal established in 1993 as Russian Gastroenterological Journal (ISSN:1560-408X). In 2002 it became the official journal of Gastroenterological Scientific Society of Russia and obtained today's title.

Editorial Policy
Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology Journal publishes original papers on basic and clinical science in the field of disorders of digestive system, as well as other information related to internal medicine and biomedical specialities.  The journal publishes original papers, editorials, reviews and special articles, advanced technologies, methods and materials, congress proceedings, short clinical cases, letters to the editor, news, images of the month. Journal Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology follows the Uniform Requirements for Biomedical Journals, developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors available at: www.icmje.org. More detailed information about the categories of the manuscripts is given in the «Categories of Manuscripts» in the «Information for Authors».
Submission implies that the work is original, that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere, all authors of the work concur with the submission.
All submitted manuscripts are the subject to a peer-reviewed process and reviewed and discussed by Editorial Board.

The numbering of volumes of the journal continues in order of publication since 2002; first number begins with the issue in January each year. 101 (1) 2014 where 101 is volume, 1 is the first issue in January 2014- year.
