PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND RESEARCH INTERESTS cover problems of internal medicine, gerontology, cardiology and gastroenterology. Professor Leonid Lazebnik carried out series of studies that examine the features of diseases of cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive systems in elderly and senile age. The package of state documents regulating the activities of gerontology services, and the first guidelines for medical geriatricians, as well as Federal standards for the diagnosis and treatment of acid-dependent conditions, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were developed and published under the guidance of professor Leonid Lazebnik.

As a Main Researcher Leonid Lazebnik participated in several studies: Syst-Eur, Value, Mills I,II, Live, Copernicus, Заслон, Мергэ, Rome Foundation Global Epidemiology Study

Professor Leonid Lazebnik is the author of over 700 articles and 18 monographs and books. Such as: “Practical Geriatrics", "Hypertension in the elderly", "Coronary heart disease in the elderly", “Geriatric hematology”, “Geriatric Nephrology”, “Digestive diseases in the elderly”, “Chronic ischemic disease of the digestive system”, “Selected chapters of Geriatric Urology”, “Handbook for diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the elderly”.)   Clinical Pharmacology (Monograph "Donator of nitric oxide", “Receptor blockers to Angiotensin II”) and others.

On behalf of both the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) and Turkish Society of Gastroenterology (TSG), we wish to invite you to join us at the 17th World Congress of Gastroenterology, which will be held 21-24 September 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey at the Istanbul Congress Center.

 

The World Congress looks forward to receiving over 4,000 delegates from around the globe. This meeting will provide an opportunity for professionals in the field of gastroenterology, hepatology and related disciplines to come together to learn about the latest research and advancements, collaborate with colleagues and actively participate in this rapidly advancing field. The Scientific Program will include a Postgraduate Course, a blend of presentations from over 100 regional and international leaders in the field, featuring four concurrent sessions daily, hands-on workshops, both oral and poster presentations, and exhibitions. The full Scientific Program can be viewed on the World Congress 2019 website at www.wcog2019.org. Sessions will offer simultaneous translation in Turkish and Russian.

The World Stomach Day has been initiated to bring public awareness:
• to the multiple functions of the stomach
• to prevention of stomach diseases
• to present options of therapies for gastric diseases.
The H S I group hopes to engage all its members in whichever way possible. It can be a public awareness event in form of interactive stomach model presentation, public events around stomach health, information session for patients in hospital centers, local news publications on stomach health, interviews in public media about stomach health, engagement in public fairs such as food festivals, fall events, educational events, sport events etc.

We have currently received positive feedback from H S I board members on planned activities in Australia, Germany, Finland and Taiwan. Please join the efforts for the first WORLD STOMACH DAY by the Healthy Stomach Initiative and please send us information about the details and if possible, please engage local media outlets and online platforms. Dear Friends of Rome Foundation,

The Rome Foundation is excited to announce the launch of our Young Investigator Mentoring Program.

Third Annual Rome Foundation Young Investigator Mentoring Program

 This programs gives researchers in the early stages of their careers--who do not have access to an experienced mentor-- the opportunity to present proposed research studies to Rome Foundation Board members.

They will review their proposals, identify pitfalls or opportunities, and give advice and guidance to the six selected applicants who will be allotted fifteen minutes each to present. This will take place at a 2 hour meeting at DDW on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from 3:30-5:45 p.m at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

To apply, applicants must be researchers who:

1. Are interested in functional GI disorders and/or GI motility problems or function

2. Do not have sufficient mentoring input or support for their project

3. Can fund their own travel to San Diego, CA for DDW.

The program has no geographic or age restrictions, and the deadline for applicants April 1, 2019 with applicants being selected the third week of April.

The program is consistent with and supports the Foundation’s commitment “to the continuous development, legitimization and preservation of the field of FGIDs through science-based activities.”
